Cosine Correction | Angular errors of light incidences are corrected by the globe covered on photocell (with spectral transmission characteristics) Angle of incidences 10° within ± 1.5%. 30° within ±3%. 60° within ± 10%. 80° within ±30% |
Operating Principle | When irradiated, the selenium photocell generates a potential differences, and the photocurrent is read on the DC ammeter which is calibrated in lx. Color-correcting filters The photocell response to light varies with the angel of incidence (so-called cosine law) due to the reflection from the surface of the cell. Angular errors are corrected using cosine correction globe with the photocell. |
