What is Algorithim for Xviewer's PP Compression? (Xviewer oscilloscope app 701992)

PP Compression is peak-peak compression ... and it is an option when you save a waveform data file (WVF or WDF).

When you select the PP Comp option, Xviewer saves waveform data after Peak to Peak compressing it.

Peak to Peak compression means one point each of the maximum and the minimum data values for every set of values specified.

For example, 100 Point data set:
Xviewer finds the max and the min value of every 100 points of data and save it.

Please refer to an attached file.

When you select the Compression Rate to 100, the saved data decrease to only two points from one hundred points, and this is a huge saving (space) and still maintains useufl data waveform. (You will not miss the max or min of every data set - and this is assured.)
