Frequency to Voltage Conversion

Frequency to Voltage Conversion

Problem:
A transducer produces a sine-wave output dependant on the voltage-input; here is how to decode that output with a scope or a ScopeCorder.
For 3kV input, the transducer outputs 100Hz.
For 30kV, the transducer outputs 1,000Hz.

Input waveform goes into ScopeCorder function (or scope) with /G2.
Sine wave goes into CH1.
M1=BIN(CH1) ... M1 is square wave with same frequency as trandsucer output.

M2=PWHH(M1) ... here we are measuring the pulse width of the M1 waveform.

M3 = 30*1/M2  ..

Go to MEASURE menu and take MAX(M3) .. or AVG(M3) and you now have a numerical result on-screen. Please do not use ROLL MODE.

If ROLL MODE is a requirement, or for improved accuracy, use a FREQUENCY Module (701280) with linear scaling AX+B where A=30 and B=0.
