Is there an algorithm to process a spectrum and change its resolution to a lesser-resolution (bigger value)?

I am using a Yokogawa AQ6375 OSA and acquired some spectra some time ago and saved the data to CSV file format with a resolution of 0.1 nm. But, now I would like to change the resolution of these spectra to 1 nm, to compare them to other one. Is there an algorithm to process a spectrum and change its resolution to a lesser-resolution (bigger value)?

ANSWER: In theory there may be a way to do this; converting from a fine resolution to a less-fine resolution should be possible; but in practice the results may be un-satisfactory; I am not acquainted with any formulaic way to do so; It would be best or more practical to take the data at 0.1nm, if that is possible.
