Os osciloscópios digitais, também chamados de Osciloscópios de Armazenamento Digital (DSOs) ou Osciloscópios de Sinal Misto (MSOs), são um tipo comum de instrumentos de testes usados para capturar, analisar e solucionar problemas de sinais elétricos ou sinais físicos da natureza. Os osciloscópios observam a mudança de sinais elétricos ao longo do tempo, continuamente representados graficamente em um display como voltagem ou amplitude vs. tempo. Durante a observação, os osciloscópios podem analisar formas de onda parametricamente (ou seja, frequência, RMS, amplitude pico a pico, tempo de subida, etc.). Sinais não elétricos, especialmente sinais mecânicos como vibração, deformação, temperatura ou corrente podem ser convertidos em tensões e desta forma, medidos e exibidos.
