Data acquisition (DAQ) is the measurement, recording, analyzing, and presentation of real world phenomena. It includes electrical measurements such as voltage, current, power as well as measurements through sensors and transducers including temperature, pressure, flow, level, strain, acceleration, vibration, humidity, and more.
Selecting the ideal data acquisition components or solution depends on your application. Typical factors include sample rates, channel scalability, signal conditioning, sensor types, analysis capability, mobility, and environmental conditions.
A ScopeCorder combines the transient signal capturing capabilities of an oscilloscope with the long-term datalogging capabilities of a data recorder. The DL350 ScopeCorder is a portable instrument featuring the deep measurement and recording capabilities you need in the lab in a compact instrument you can take into the field. For “quick and easy” troubleshooting or sophisticated mixed-signal datalogging, the DL350 is a portable, powerful, and useable engineering tool that makes complete measurements completely portable.
The SL1000 is a modular data acquisition system that delivers independent, isolated channel hardware at high speeds up to 100 MSamples per channel, with no compromise in bit resolution, memory depth, or data streaming performance. Choose from a wide variety of I/O modules for electrical and physical sensor signal measurements to meet the needs of any medium channel count application.
ScopeCorder DL850E combines a mixed signal oscilloscope and portable data acquisition recorder into a modular platform designed to capture both high-speed transients and low speed trends. Using flexible modular I/O with built-in signal conditioning, precisely measure electrical, physical sensor signals and CAN/CAN FD/LIN/SENT serial bus for applications ranging from R&D research to in-vehicle data logging.

How can I capture data from motion sensors synchronized with other analog data? The Yokogawa ScopeCorder series of instruments feature input modules and functions to make this possible.
How to use built-in calculations to analyze motor rotor position and find the relative angle between the rotor and sensors such as encoders or resolvers.
We have developed the new SL1000 high-speed data acquisition unit which features a maximum sampling rate of 100 MS/s with 16 channels, and yet still offers 1-kV insulation. This PC-based instrument can also update waveforms at a high rate on the PC monitor like a single instrument, even for large quantities of data, due to the newly developed GIGAZoom Engine for data compression. This paper describes the functions and technologies of the high-speed data acquisition in the SL1000.
We have developed the WE500/WE900 measuring stations for the WE7000 series of PC-based measurement instruments. The WE500/WE900 have inherited the conventional plug-and-play architecture and high-speed data transmission function, and achieved even more advanced functionality and higher performance while maintaining compatibility with the conventional measurement modules. Along with the “embedded module” function that performs internal measurement data processing and autonomous operations, the WE500/WE900 come preinstalled with communication functions based on USB and Ethernet interfaces capable of transmitting data at a maximum rate of 480 Mbps.
In recent years, energy-saving instruments including inverters have been actively developed. Researchers in R&D sections want to evaluate their prototypes in real time to enhance the development efficiency. Therefore, measuring instruments are required to have functions for not only simply recording data but also immediately calculating power values and efficiency based on the data. To meet this demand, Yokogawa has developed a unique real-time math function for the DL850 ScopeCorder, our multi-channel waveform recording instrument. This paper gives an overview of the function and its application examples.
