How to Test a Circuit Board with an Oscilloscope

To test an electronic circuit with an oscilloscope, attach the scope test lead ground connector to a ground point in the circuit. Touch the probe tip to the circuit at whichever point needs to be tested. If needed, adjust oscilloscope settings until the waveform is clearly visible.
