How do I Calculate Channel to Channel Skew on the Yokogawa DLM2000 Series Oscilloscope?

Yokogawa Oscilloscope DLM2000

The rated specification for channel to channel skew on the DLM2000 is 1 ns or less, where 1 ns typically denotes the worst case scenario.

To measure channel to channel skew on the DLM2000 series oscilloscope, you will need to verify the test conditions for both channels are the same. This means using the same probe type, the same input device, and sampling both channels at the same rate.

For a simple method on how to measure channel to channel skew, follow the procedures listed below:
  1. Use a Function Generator as the input device and output a 1MHz, 500mVpp, Pulse wave
  2. Connect the output of the Function Generator to a Power Divider
  3. Connect the output of the Power Divider to CH1 and CH2 on the DLM2000 (Setup should now look the same as the attached JPEG)
  4. Set the DLM2000 to 100 mV/div, Sampling Mode Repetitive, Average Mode, Count 16
  5. Set the Trigger Edge to Positive.
  6. Measure the time difference between the rising edges of CH1 and CH2

What is an Oscilloscope/What Does an Oscilloscope Measure?

An oscilloscope is a device that shows voltage changes over time by displaying electronic signals' waveforms.

How to Use the Oscilloscope to Track Waveforms

The user can use the oscilloscope DLM2000 to apply signals to measure, change waveform display conditions, change trigger settings, measure waveforms, zoom in/out on them, print, and save them.
