NEW PRODUCT
New passive oscilloscope probes ideal for dense PCBs and a wide temperature range
The new Model 701949 and 702907 passive oscilloscope probes from Yokogawa are intended to expand the usability and applications of Yokogawa’s DLM3000 Mixed Signal Oscilloscope.
The 701949 10:1 miniature passive probe is designed for high density PCBs, with a slim probe head that provides good visibility during operation. It also features a built-in spring mechanism at the tip that prevents slippage by automatically adjusting the load.
A wide range of accessories is available, suitable for high-speed signals such as ICs and high-density mounting boards for various applications. The 701949 frequency bandwidth ranges are DC to 500MHz, with an input voltage of +/-400V RMS.
The 702907 offers a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C, it also has a long probe length of 2.5 m, making it easy to keep the measuring instrument away from the high temperature measurement point. Longer probes are also required to connect the measuring instrument to a temperature-controlled chamber.
Frequency bandwidth ranges are DC to 200MHz, with an input voltage of +/-1000V DC + AC peak.
To ensure reliability under severe environmental conditions, these probes have been proved to withstand a cable mount pulling force of 60 N and have been tested over 500 temperature cycles.
In addition the probes can also be used with a range of probe tip conversion adaptors to connect the probe to the application in the most convenient way. The choice of adaptors includes safety mini clips, fork terminal adapters, small or large alligator clips, and 4 mm conversion adaptors with pincher tip or safety banana connectors.
Typical applications include accelerated testing and validation of automotive parts, testing designs inside a temperature chamber and the environmental testing of power converters designed for outside installations such as the inverters and transformers used for solar photovoltaic and wind-turbine power generation.
Other uses include the evaluation and environmental testing of sensors and actuators used in automotive, railway, aerospace and marine applications, and the testing of home appliances such as air-conditioners, cookers and refrigerators.

About Yokogawa Test & Measurement
Yokogawa has been developing measurement solutions for 100 years, consistently finding new ways to give R&D teams the tools they need to gain the best insights from their measurement strategies. The company has pioneered accurate power measurement throughout its history, and is the market leader in digital power analysers.
Yokogawa instruments are renowned for maintaining high levels of precision and for continuing to deliver value for far longer than the typical shelf-life of such equipment. Yokogawa believes that precise and effective measurement lies at the heart of successful innovation - and has focused its own R&D on providing the tools that researchers and engineers need to address challenges great and small.
Yokogawa takes pride in its reputation for quality, both in the products it delivers - often adding new features in response to specific client requests - and the level of service and advice provided to clients, helping to devise measurement strategies for even the most challenging environments.
The guaranteed accuracy and precision of Yokogawa's instruments results from the fact that Yokogawa has its own European standards laboratory at its European headquarters in The Netherlands. This facility is the only industrial (i.e. non-government or national) organisation in the world to offer accredited power calibration, at frequencies up to 100 kHz. ISO 17025 accreditation demonstrates the international competence of the laboratory.
